Never Give out Credit Card Number
Never Give out Credit Card Number on the Phone:
There are many occasions when you receive phone calls announcing you that you have won a big prize or that you are about to receive a reward with the condition of providing personal data that will enable the ones offering you the prize to send the money to you. Or you can be informed that you were the 99,999th person they called and this makes you the lucky winner. This way, you are requested, over the phone, to give away information that should only be known by you. One of the golden rules of success in life is: never give out credit card number, especially not over the phone or via email.
There are a few numbers that should never be given away to people you don’t fully trust. These are: social security number, driver’s license number and credit card numbers. And, so that it stays really clear, you should never give out credit card numbers, in order to avoid allowing strangers to access your account and have their way with your savings and your good name.
In order to realize that it is a good thing to avoid giving out your credit card number, stop for a moment and think about the offer you are receiving. Who in the world would be giving you a prize by the phone, especially if you have not played the lottery or anything of the kind? And why would they want to send you the money through your bank account, when there are a lot of other ways of sending money, that don’t imply compromising your privacy and don’t give complete and absolute strangers that you have only met on the phone access to your account and to your personal information.
The main reason why you should never give out credit card numbers is the fact that having access to the most private information obtained over the phone, scammers can get the rest of the information and go to the bank pretending to be you. This way, they contract loans on your behalf, buy stuff and let you pay the costs of your naivety.
